 The sparkling waters of the blue Aegean gently turn to silver as they begin to reflect the light emitted by Apollo the sun god's sister, Celine, better known to us mortals as the moon. Shops, cafes, cocktail bars, restaurants and tavernas slowly transform into beacons of bright, artificial light. The smell of the cool summer evening breeze fills your lungs as the anticipation of the mysterious night ambience of Kos, fuelled with the bouquet of night jasmine engulfs your senses.
 Take a stroll by the harbour where the boats are lined up, beautifully lit with somebody standing in front with a tan to die for, eager to provide information for the next day's excursion. Cross over to one of the picturesque cafes for a cocktail and a chat with your friends. If you are a little bit further out from Kos town, the seaside cafes and bars are truly an experience. Perhaps you're a little hungry, take a seat in one of the many terrace restaurants.
 For those of you that have no intention of going back to your hotel until the sun comes up, the party is about to get started. Kos has a huge selection of bars and clubs lined throughout the entire breadth of the island. Bar street (so named for obvious reasons) is the place to be if you're looking for loud music and dance. Kardamena also has a reputation for being a party resort. Music ranges from mainstream hip hop, pop, house, dance, techno, rave, garage, alternative and pure unadulterated rock to bouzouki and belly dancing, all pumped loudly till the very early hours of the morning. This is what memories are made of, as long as you don't drink too much and find you remember nothing the next day. |
